0 – Pre-K
At least two adults (one consistent; one rotating) operate the nursery on Sunday mornings, welcoming our youngest children into a caring and safe environment of “free play.” Parents are asked to drop off and pick up their children prior to and directly following worship. The nursery is located on the same floor as the sanctuary, in room 126.
K – 5th
Church School is a caring place where we make friends and experience a sense of wonder and respect for the world around us. We become familiar with our space and the rhythm of our Sunday mornings together, sharing stories, arts and crafts, circle time, free play, and snack. Additionally, we are introduced to Unitarian Universalist principles. We learn that as Unitarian Universalists we are welcoming to all people, we care for others, create a fair and peaceful world, love the earth, and are true to ourselves. GRADES 1-5
Children will engage with the Spirit Play curriculum, a Montessori – style UU program that allows for children to ask life’s big questions through story and play. The Storyteller (teacher) will lead the circle with a story, followed by wondering, and an art response. Some common big questions addressed are: Where did we come from? What are we doing here? What is our purpose? What are our gifts? What happens when we die? Click here for more information.
